I have seen it on the TV before but as with most things nothing beats being there. The course is on the south side of the swan river. You can see it from the city side or kings park but the best spot is around the south side. Its a short free bus ride from the city. The whole event is free, just rock up. There are some paid grand stand options if you want but I went on the saturday & the crowd was a good size but I could still get to the edge of the water to watch. I heard from others that the sunday is packed out. There are big screen TV's to watch all the previews & replays & keep up with whats going on. The Racing is just awesome, the way the pilots throw the planes around is amazing. What was great is that the course around the pylons takes the planes past the crowd several times at different angles which means more pictures for me. The races are only on in 8 locations around the world each year, if you get chance make sure you go it is well worth it. The chopper filming the event is a bit crazy the way he rips over the course & the guys who repair the pylons work fast. They had to fix the same one 4 times on Saturday.
