Its a relax little town south of Perth in Western Australia. I went down for a day trip & it's less than an hours train ride on the Perth metro system. The trip down is nice in itself. Mandurah's train station is on the edge of the town but there is a Free bus between the station & the foreshore. You can check out the visitors centre while you wait for the bus.
The town centre is based around the foreshore with many of the places to eat & drink facing onto the lake area.
I spent my day just wandering around taking pictures & relaxing but you can also head out on some day cruises.
Great spot for a day trip like me or a weekend escape from Perth
