www.twitter.com/timthetraveller Frankston Frankston is a suburb of Melbourne but is also a small town in itself. Located on the edge of the Bay, Frankston is the last stop on the train line from the Melbourne CBD. It is a great day trip from the CBD & a offers lots of fun for a day out. There are a series of walkways along the beach front that wind through the bush. From Frankston you can head off to several other spots around the bay. I took the diesel train service out to Stony Point from Frankston train station. Its a 40 minute ride to Stony Point which is a spot on the other side of the bay. It is a quiet relaxed spot that includes a boat launch, a wharf that runs a regular ferry service to to French Island & Phillip Island. There is also a good size camping ground. Below are some pictures from Frankston & a few of the wildlife around Stony Point includign some beautiful Pelicans.
