Situated in the arid heart
of Australia & surrounded by the beauty of the MacDonald Ranges &
Mt Gillen, Alice Springs has a unique environment that is a popular
tourist destination.

Home to a diverse range of
people, from the traditional Arrente owners to descendants of families who have settled in the
past to those who found the lure of 'The Alice' too strong to leave. Many
people come & go, Alice is, after all a cross roads town.
The original 'Alice
Spring' is still there, a permanent waterhole at the Overland Telegraph
Station, just north of the town.
|

You can use the Alice as
your base to explore the rugged chasms, gorges & waterways of Simpson's
Gap, Stanley Chasm, Palm Valley & Finke Gorge National Park. Visit Ross River Homestead or the old goldfield
township of Arltunga. Cross over the Charlotte Ranges to get to Castle
Rock & Chambers Pillar.

The Simpson
Desert is real frontier country that is still as wild and untamed as it was
for the first European pioneers 150 years ago.
Alice Springs is the hub of a truly magical part of Central Australia.
