Sydney is Australia’s largest & best-known city. Set around the bays & inlets of Port Jackson & extending along the coast.

Sydney was the first site of European settlement on the Australian continent founded in 1788 to the north of Botany Bay on the magnificent foreshores of Port Jackson, or Sydney Harbour as it is known today.

From 1825 until the 1860s Sydney was a prison outpost slowly evolving into a society where free settlers &  convicts worked together. The turning point occurred in May 1851 when Edward Hargraves brought 120 grams of gold to Sydney triggering the goldrushes. Overnight workers in Sydney downed tools & headed for the goldfields. Prospectors from all over the world passed through Sydney eager to try their luck on the goldfields.

Sydney is one of the best holiday cities in the world. With the glamour & excitement of an international city including designer bars, restaurants, world-class galleries & excellent shopping. Native bushland rings the city on three side & on the fourth is the sparkling Pacific Ocean & some of the coast's best surf beaches.

Sydney's dining scene reflects its multicultural diversity & willingness to embrace new things. With a fresh approach to flavour combinations at numerous gourmet restaurants, many of which are on the harbour & enjoy outstanding views. A cafe society thrives in Sydney's inner precincts & beaches, while Paddington & Balmain have flourishing pub-dining scenes & quality food is also on offer at historic pubs in The Rocks.

The harbour has many options for entertainment such as cruising, sailing, swimming, dining & walking the foreshore combined with an almost perfect climate.
