Australia is a small, modern nation in a vast, ancient land.

Covering an area the size of Europe, Australia is the world's largest island continent. It is also the oldest, flattest & except for Antarctica - the driest place on earth.

The harshness of the interior means Australia has become a coastal country. Most of the population lives within 20km of the ocean. A sunny climate also contributes to this with an outdoor life in which a beach culture & the backyard "barbie" are central.

Most people have a particular image of Australia, such as the Opera House or blood-red Uluru (Ayers Rock).

Yet these famous icons do scant justice to the richness of Australia's natural treasures. Australia offers a wealth of travel experiences, from the vastness of the outback, to the spectacle of the Great Barrier Reef & some of the best beaches in the world.
